What’s Happening In Chicago This Weekend: May 29 – 31, 2015
Each week we will feature a post about what’s going around town during the upcoming weekend. From big festivals to conventions, we’re going to cover it all. This weekend is going to be a fun one as one the events is right by Urban Holiday Lofts. Let’s get started.
Do Division Street Fest – Hosted in Bucktown Chicago, this festival has some great music acts in store. The main headliners include Nick Waterhouse, Tobacco, Black Mountain, and Temples. There will be two stages set up for all of the musical acts. Just down the street from the music will be the sidewalk sale. this will feature local boutiques, bakeries, cafes, and bars selling all their goodies right on the street. This event is not just for adults. An entire block will be dedicated to family fun. Everything from pony rides to face painting will take place. Last but not least, a fashion show will occur after hoursĀ hosted by an NBC 5 Chicago news anchor.
Maifest Chicago – Maifest is a german celebration of Spring. Taking placeĀ in Lincoln Square, you won’t even feel like your in the city. This cozy neighborhood is home to a large German population so it only makes sense for it to host the Maifest celebration. Basically Maifest is a big neighborhood party. This event will feature some good brews and even better German cuisine: wieners, sausages, schnitzels, and pretzels. Also don’t forget the German beer.
Lincoln Park Wine Fest – Drink some wine and mingle with the locals from the Lincoln Park neighborhood. While not the biggest wine festival in the city, it should be a good time and it’s located right by some fun bars (see Barrel House Flat, Kirkwoods, and Beermiscuous) so after you sip some wine head out in any direction and you’re going to find some good night life action.
Millennium Art Festival – Known as one of the Top 50 Art and Design Shows, Millennium Art Festival is a must go for the art lover. Walk around with a drink in hand and admire art by more than 110 real artists from all over the country. This festival will have all kinds of art from paintings to ceramics to performances. Conveniently located downtown, if you find yourself touring the downtown this weekend, swing by and class it up with some art. See Event
